Call for the Hertie School’s Digital Governance Scholarship is now open!!

The past decades have seen technological advancements at such a rapid and transformative pace that good policies in the digital realm have become especially crucial. Entire industries have experienced disruption as a result of automation and innovation. The widespread proliferation of (mis)information is accessible as a click of a button and personal data is becoming increasingly digitally available. The Digital Governance Scholarship is aimed at students who wish to delve into the various challenges posed by digitalisation.

The Hertie School’s Digital Governance Scholarship is designed for students interested in exploring the challenges of digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) policy. This scholarship is specifically available for the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program and is open to applicants of all nationalities. It offers two full scholarships, each worth €37,500.

The scholarship targets students keen on addressing the policy issues brought on by rapid technological advancements, automation, innovation, and the spread of (mis)information. Applicants must submit their standard MPP program application by the relevant deadlines. Once admitted, they will be invited to apply for scholarships, including the Digital Governance Scholarship, by submitting a one-page personal statement detailing their interest in digitalization and how their studies could further this purpose. Shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview with a faculty member.

  • Open to applicants from all nationalities;
  • This scholarship is aimed at students who wish to explore digitalisation and Al policy issues.

Benefits

  • Two full scholarships worth 37,500 Euros are available.

Application Process

  • First, submit a standard application to the MPP programme.

    Your application for admission to a master’s programme must be submitted by either the Early Bird deadline (1 December) or Priority Deadlines (non-EU/EEA 15 January; EU/EEA 15 February). We recommend you apply as early as possible.
  • After receiving an admission offer, you will be invited to access the Funding Application. You will have two weeks to apply for scholarships.

    For the Digital Governance Scholarship, write a one-page personal statement elaborating on your interest in digitalisation and how your studies at the Hertie School could serve this purpose.

You may not apply for scholarships until after being admitted to a programme. You may only apply to one full scholarship per year.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview with a faculty member.
